At All Saints' our 2002 holiday club was called "Desert Detectives". It was a holiday club for Primary school age (KS1 and KS2) children designed around the theme of investigating ancient artefacts and connecting these to learning more about the Bible. Our aim was to encourage children to learn more about Jesus and to grow in their faith.

Our hall was turned into a desert setting, enhanced by the "sand" of the children's special yellow "Desert Detectives" T-shirts. The church team all had cool royal blue D/D T-shirts too.

Led by Simon Shutt (of F.A.C.T.) and a team from our church, we had lots of fun, learnt new songs, enjoyed drama and videos, made lots of things and learnt alot about the Bible and Jesus in our quest for the "Mighty GodSword".

During the week we thought about LAW, HISTORY, WISDOM and PROPHETS; the Old Testament, finishing on Sunday with the New Testament.

"Baby" came along with Simon and helped us with our Memory Verse and also made us laugh with his burping and the strange noises coming from his nappy!

Almost eighty children came along and had a wonderful time. You can click on the links below to see more pictures of what we have been doing at Desert Detectives.
